Editing Services

Step 1: Content Editing

Content editing is the first step we take to find and fix plot holes and continuity errors in character motivation, theme, symbolism, and any other "big picture" problems the story might be facing. If you select this service, one of our highly trained professionals will review your manuscript's structure and flow so that your story will have a compelling effect on the reader.

What this includes:

  • A free diagnostic (see above)

  • A page-by-page review of big picture concepts

  • A written assessment at the end of each chapter

  • A Q+A session with the editor upon completion of the manuscript

Process:

  1. Submit a request for a content editor

  2. Include the first 1,000-1,500 words of your manuscript for your free diagnostic (Note: for the sake of clarity, please conclude your sample on a clear section or chapter break)

  3. We'll review your sample and send you a quote upon completion of the diagnostic

Step 2: Copy-Editing

Step 3: Proofreading

Proofreading is different from copy-editing because it focuses ONLY on grammar and typos. This is the final step to your editing process before seeking publication. A dedicated editing professional will review your manuscript with a fine-tooth comb to make sure your completed work is error-free.

What this includes:

  • A free diagnostic (see above)
